MEXICO CITY, MX
Businesswoman. Designer. Creative Director. Cecilia Velasco was born in Mexico City to find that her path would be one of challenges with reinvention as the guide. Reinventing herself always, no matter what, has been paramount in her professional development, whether in the world of advertising or culture. As when Marvin came into her life, a printed music magazine, at the time when the entire publishing industry was in a crisis due to the digital revolution. Paper and music did not seem a viable business, but Cecilia never embraced the defeatism common in the sector. While music magazines were disappearing, Marvin, hand in hand with Cecilia and a team that formed a creative community, entered into a process of transformation. In 20 years, Marvin has grown into a multimedia platform, web site, printed magazine, network channels, added on the Marvin Festival and the strongest streaming event in Latin America, Marvin Gateway Festival. All with the help of Tópica, a company formed by the alliance of Marvin along with Casete, Galante and Ábaco.
Cecilia Velasco is actively responsible for the fact that creation in Mexico and LATAM has found channels of expression, business and evolution. Art and technology; film, music and gaming; stand up comedy and networking. Cecilia Velasco's business universe is that of an infinity of possibilities beyond the circumstantial circumstances.
