Mary Anne's Polar Rig belongs to the new generation of rock bands from Malmö, where looping and shrill guitars take as much focus as cute melodies and dance-friendly chords. The band carries on the nonchalant attitude of acts like Pavement and The Breeders but with a hyped soundscape and explosive live show, all combined with an extended live band and lands somewhere between "slacker rock" and "fuzzpop". In 2023, they released their second album 'Makes You Wonder' via Rama Lama Records, an album packed with experimental yet catchy indie rock that constantly offers surprises and euphoric climaxes.
