Dan Alexander Jupskås, 52 and ever-curious, has been booking acts since 1994, driven by passion rather than profit. As the booking manager for RiP, a volunteer-run DIY basement club in Norway with a capacity of 160, Dan oversees a venue that’s been operating since 1990 without the need for profits. Every penny goes back into the club and its programming.
RiP exclusively books artists with original material, giving a platform to local and lesser-known acts alongside bigger names. Dan’s focus is on youth, encouraging them to take the stage or join the audience, all at low ticket prices and with an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere. His aim is to inspire young people to pick up instruments, build experience, and create lasting memories. “Rock på dugnad siden 1990” is the club’s motto—community-driven rock with a mission.
